We’re well and truly into 2020 now and although it’s been a shaky start so far with the outbreak of the Coronavirus, I’ve been well and truly buoyed by the ‘keep calm and carry on’ nature of our wonderful wedding industry. At the time of writing, precautionary measures are in discussion, however, the show must go on, and like all adversity, ‘this too shall pass.’ So, in that vein, let’s look to a bright future and keep planning your special occasion!
Luckily, the weather’s turning and spring is hands down my favourite time of year – maybe it’s because of the sunshine, the beautiful flowers in bloom or the longer evenings – either way, I’m so excited!
This issue is full of dreamy inspiration that will make the planning of your big day much easier, if you’re having any wedding worries then definitely check out our hot topic feature, where you’ll find expert advice. We’re always on the lookout for any changes to the world of weddings and if you want to keep up-to-date with all the goings-on from around the regions, then our nearlywed news feature is only a few pages turns away.

Woburn Safari Lodge
Nestled in the heart of the Foot Safari at Woburn Safari Park, the Safari Lodge provides a special wedding venue – perfect for any animal lover! Whatever nearlyweds are looking for, the Safari Lodge team can provide a service that’s second to none and fully bespoke. With a warm and fun, informal atmosphere, The Lodge can be set up for ceremonies, dinner and dancing.
Overlooking Swan Lake and Desert Springs, the Swan Boats and meerkats are just a few of the nearby attractions. Guests can enjoy the pedalos out on Swan Lake and take in the natural beauty of the Woburn Estate.
Ceremonies take place within the Safari Lodge, which can accommodate up to 160 people as well as the evening reception, which will also take place within the lodge. Accommodating up to 160 guests, dining options include a formal seated wedding breakfast; an informal hot buffet or a delicious barbecue cooked on the veranda.
To add to the enjoyment, the company can arrange a safari drive for the couple and guests, which makes for beautiful photograph opportunities – a truly adventurous end to a never-to-be-forgotten day. There’s also added extras including elephant meet and greets!
A short drive away, The Woburn Hotel can be used as accommodation for the wedding party.
