I’m writing this editor’s letter with a heavy heart because it’s my very last issue with you guys. I’m handing over the baton after a fabulous five years of being editor of Your Herts & Beds Wedding. I’ve loved every minute and feel very lucky to have played a part in so many couples’ journeys – each and every one has been simply stunning but it doesn’t end here, there’s more to come and you won’t be disappointed.
What a gorgeous issue to end on – full of festive inspiration! Whether it’s a contemporary white winter wonderland or a cosy traditional affair, there’s something so magical about seasonal weddings. Make the most of the crisp days and cosy nights, sparkly décor and twinkly lights to create that gorgeous atmosphere.
It’s such an exciting time and we’re on hand to help you along the way! Pour the wine (or hot chocolate), light the fire and curl up on the sofa with this wonderful wintry issue.

Editor, Sarah Gallivan visits Shuttleworth
The Shuttleworth estate, situated within 5,000-acres of rolling parkland offers numerous big-day options. You can find out so much online but you need to visit to get a real feel for how special a venue this truly is. My granddad adores vintage aircraft so I took him along for the ride and the whole experience didn’t disappoint. The Collection at Shuttleworth is what he was interested in but I wanted to talk weddings! If you’re looking for a venue with a difference, Hanger 3 is the perfect option for you surrounded by masterpieces of aviation and automotive history.
The Jacobean-style country house boasts an array of grand and finely furnished rooms in which to host your ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception. The Summer House, set within a sunken garden, makes for an idyllic outdoor ceremony venue and the abundance of mature parkland’s ideal if you wish to erect a marquee or tipi. After the tour of the house and hearing its fascinating history, I took in the delights of The Swiss Garden – even in the rain it was stunning. Ornate bridges, ponds and rustic buildings are dotted around, offering a range of photo opportunities. Within the garden, surrounded by beautifully manicured lawns, are two ceremony venues – The Swiss Cottage and The Grotto and Fernery. There are so many options you’re spoilt for choice!
