Hello lovely readers and welcome to another issue of Your Herts and Beds Wedding. I hope you’ve been enjoying the sunshine and warmer weather; the time has flown by and I can’t believe it’s already August!
I personally love summer as the birds are singing in the morning, you can soak up more vitamin D and the evenings are perfect for sitting outside with a glass of gin – something I love to do! As we’re reaching the end of the season, I’m excited to see autumnal nuptials occur. This time of year is popular for rustic, boho, vintage or country-style days and why not have fun with the colour palette and embrace autumn with burnt orange, burgundy, browns and beige shades?
Planning a wedding can seem like a daunting task, but don’t panic as we’ve gathered local experts from around the region to share inspiration and offer advice to make this process much more manageable. In this issue you’ll find beauty tips, learn how to find talented suppliers and answers to any big-day dilemmas.
When it comes to creating your dream day, remember that communication is vital. Take this opportunity to work together as a team and create a day that represents you both. Stay true to yourselves and don’t be swayed too much by other peoples’ opinions; it’s your day after all!

Shuttleworth
Situated in 5,000 acres of Bedfordshire countryside, Shuttleworth offers an extraordinary setting for weddings and celebrations all year round. When lovebirds book their wedding, the venue provides help from its experienced wedding planner to assist in the run-up and during the wedding.
From smaller, more intimate ceremonies to opulent gatherings of up to 2,000 guests, Shuttleworth has a choice of three stunning venues to make the day special and memorable. Based on nine acres, The Shuttleworth Swiss Garden was created in the 1820s by Lord Ongley. With picturesque views, it’s a beautiful venue for a ceremony with 70 people in either of its two licensed venues, including The Swiss Cottage or The Grotto & Fernery. The venue can also arrange a canapé and drinks reception on the perfectly manicured lawns.
Built in 1872, Shuttleworth House offers an unrivalled wedding experience. Take exclusive use of the Jacobean-style country house, and choose between an array of grand and finely furnished rooms to hold ceremonies with 200 people, wedding breakfasts for 150 loved ones and evening receptions.
Shuttleworth Collection is home to The Hangar 3, also known as Richard Shuttleworth’s hangar. With a backdrop of historical Shuttleworth exhibits and the hangar doors wide open on a summer’s day, it does have the wow factor. This space is suitable for wedding receptions for up to 130 guests (not available for dry hire).
If couples have more than 150 guests, couples can hire a piece of the parkland and hire marquees or tipis from a different supplier.
