2020 might not have been the best year for weddings - the least said about that the better - but 2021 is looking rather hopeful for loved up couples. GiftsOnline4U, the personalised gifts online retailer, has delved into Office for National Statistics data to see the UK locations with the most weddings in one year. The research covered England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland separately to be able to reveal the most loved-up places for each of these locations. The findings showed that the most popular spot in England to get hitched, is Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, with over 4,000 weddings in one year....
GiftsOnline4U also looked into which day of the year was most popular to get married on. Interestingly, most weddings in one year happened on Wednesdays and couples were most likely to opt for a mid-to-late summer wedding, with Wednesday the 26th August coming in fifth, 29th July fourth, 12th August third, 5th August second and 2nd of September coming out on top as the most sought-after date for nuptials.
Asgar Dungarwalla from GiftsOnline4U said: “You might think that the lands of France and Italy are the ones to be revered as the most romantic locations in the world, but our data showed that we have some beloved locations here in the UK when it comes to choosing our wedding destinations.”
