The Peninsula New York is perfectly positioned on Fifth Avenue at 55th Street, in the heart of Manhattan's most prestigious shopping and cultural district. For guests looking to immerse themselves in New York's fashion world, the hotel also offers an exclusive Balmain experience just moments away. Stay: Superior Room from $895 per night (approx. £725)

Portrait Milano exterior image of hotel

Portrait Milano brings a new level of refined luxury to the heart of Milan. Hidden behind one of the city's oldest seminaries on Corso Venezia, the hotel offers 73 rooms and suites arranged around a serene piazza, creating an intimate retreat moments from the fashion quarter. Designed by Michele Bönan, the interiors blend Milanese sophistication with subtle references to Tuscan craftsmanship and the Ferragamo family heritage.

Beneath the elegant colonnade, guests can browse a collection of beautifully curated boutiques that make the hotel feel like an extension of Milan Fashion Week itself. Among them is the boutique from Maria-Sole Ferragamo, showcasing her contemporary, eco-conscious leather jewellery under the SO-LE Studio label — a modern expression of one of Italy's most celebrated fashion dynasties. Nearby, the acclaimed concept store Antonia offers a carefully edited mix of established luxury houses and emerging designers, giving fashion-minded guests the chance to shop everything from Balenciaga and Saint Laurent to emerging designers like Jacquemus and Marine Serre.

The hotel's acclaimed 10_11 restaurant was recently recognised for serving the Best Hotel Breakfast in Italy, adding another layer of indulgence to one of Milan's most stylish new addresses.

Portrait Milano offers rooms starting from approximately £820 per night, based on two adults and excluding breakfast.

Lake Como Hotel by night

Few addresses capture the cinematic romance of Lake Como quite like Grand Hotel Tremezzo. Overlooking the lake from an Art Nouveau palazzo, this legendary hotel has welcomed guests for more than a century and remains one of Italy's most iconic retreats. The hotel's floating pool on the lake has become one of Como's most recognisable images, while impeccably restored vintage boats can whisk guests across the water for private villa visits and candlelit dinners, making it an especially irresistible choice for travellers wanting to channel the same polished escapism that has long drawn fashion insiders to the lake.

Adding to that sense of timeless glamour, guests can enjoy the very recently opened CASABIANCA, a beautifully restored three-storey 1930s villa created by Paolo and Antonella De Santis. Home to 15 individually restored rooms and the couple's private contemporary art collection built over more than four decades, the new opening introduces a more cultural dimension to the family's hospitality portfolio. Within the villa, Cova Casabianca, created in collaboration with Milan's historic Cova pasticceria, brings a touch of Milanese café society to the shores of Lake Como — giving guests yet another reason this storied address continues to evolve while retaining its old-world charm.

Rates: Stays at Grand Hotel Tremezzo from £900 + vat per night, including breakfast.
