April/May 2020

We’re well and truly into 2020 now and although it’s been a shaky start so far with the outbreak of the Coronavirus, I’ve been well and truly buoyed by the ‘keep calm and carry on’ nature of our wonderful wedding industry. At the time of writing, precautionary measures are in discussion, however, the show must go on, and like all adversity, ‘this too shall pass.’ So, in that vein, let’s look to a bright future and keep planning your special occasion!

Luckily, the weather’s turning and spring is hands down my favourite time of year – maybe it’s because of the sunshine, the beautiful flowers in bloom or the longer evenings – either way, I’m so excited!

This issue is full of dreamy inspiration that will make the planning of your big day much easier, if you’re having any wedding worries then definitely check out our hot topic feature, where you’ll find expert advice. We’re always on the lookout for any changes to the world of weddings and if you want to keep up-to-date with all the goings-on from around the regions, then our nearlywed news feature is only a few pages turns away.

We’ve also scouted the area for some of the best venues throughout the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire regions where you might just find your dream setting. Likewise, check out our catering feature, where you can find great ideas on how to incorporate food throughout the special day, from canapés to evening snacks.

That’s all from me, now sit back, relax and celebrate anything and everything wedding!

The Priory

Steeped in history, The Priory is grand by anyone’s standards. Built in the 16th-century by the King’s carpenter, the exposed oak structure of the spacious barn makes this venue a real stunner.

The picturesque gardens and terrace provide the perfect backdrop for outdoor celebrations and the allimportant big-day photos. The barn can accommodate up to 150 loved ones for the nuptials, wedding breakfast and evening celebrations and summer ceremonies can also take place in the gazebo if couples are lucky enough to have sunshine on their special day.

The rural feel of this venue mixed with a contemporary edge creates that special something for your big day. Plus, the exclusive-use option makes the venue all the more personal.
