Lucy and Oliver shared their day with loved ones at The Conservatory at the Luton Hoo Walled Garden.

Lucy and Oliver met on a night out in Hitchin. “I'd just been out for a meal and was really conscious that I smelt of Chinese food so I randomly approached Oliver to ask him to sniff me!” she says. “Oliver obliged and told me that he loved spring rolls – smooth moves! We hit it off straight away, it felt like we'd known each other for ages.” The couple laughed and talked all night and have been inseparable ever since.

It was during a weekend away that Oliver proposed. “We love going to Whitstable for mini breaks and we were on the beach on our first day when he asked me to marry him,” says Lucy. “It was a complete surprise, so much so that I made him get down on one knee and do it again as I forgot to say yes!”

Their day was a huge celebration with everyone they loved. Here, Lucy tells us all about it…

Smooth moves: Image 1 Our bridesmaids wore blush pink pleated dresses with nude shoes.

I wore a dress by Allure. I always wanted an all-lace design and loved the couture style and the blush pink under layer.

Our flowers were incredible. My bouquet was quite informal and included gypsophila, lissianthus, roses, spray roses, freesia, eucalyptus and grey foliage.

Smooth moves: Image 3 Oliver and his groomsmen wore navy blue suits and Oliver wore a grey check waistcoat to stand out. He accessorised with his grandfather's tiepin and cufflinks that he'd given to him before he sadly passed away.

I accessorised with a cathedral-length lace-edged veil, a diamond bracelet, blue sapphire earrings to match my engagement ring and I wore Carvela shoes.

I chose airbrush make-up and opted for smoky eyes.

Smooth moves: Image 5 Oliver's mum is the vicar in our local church and being married by her wasbrilliant, funny, emotional and very unusual she was incredible.

We loved the privacy of the walled garden and the surroundings looked stunning in summer.

For our favours we gave our guests drink tokens that were presented in small decorative boxes with ivory lace ties.

Smooth moves: Image 7 We based our decorative touches on our classical wedding theme and brought in subtle touches of colour throughout.

Our table plan was presented on a large framed vintage-style mirror. It was one of our favourite features of the day.

For our centrepieces bouquets of flowers were presented in large martini glass vases and a complementary display was placed in the middle of the top table.

Smooth moves: Image 9 We had a vintage-style classic car and my mum insisted on arriving in a limo, which we still laugh about to this day!

Oliver's aunty made our delicious cake. It was decorated with white iced roses cascading down the five tiers.

We decorated our chairs with bouquets of gypsophila adorned with white and blush pink ribbon ties.

Smooth moves: Image 11 During the evening we had a pizza oven outside, which was amazing.

Our sweet cart was very popular with our guests.

We decided to have a DJ for our entertainment. We wanted everyone to be laughing, chatting and dancing in one large space together.

Smooth moves: Image 13 Our photographer Rafe, went above and beyond. He helped us with a lot of pre-wedding advice and was fantastic on the day.
