Have you ever believed that some things are just meant to be? This was the case for Natalie and Davide who met when they were just 18 years old. “I was at a barbecue at my best friend's house when I first bumped into him,” Natalie recalls. Soon after, she went to University in London and when she returned fate ran its course. “I was on a night out when our paths crossed again. This kept happening for a while and eventually Davide asked me out on a date,” recalls Natalie. The duo went out for drinks and hit it off straightaway. “We were having such a good night that we lost track of time and when I checked it was 4.30am,” she says. “The next day we went out for lunch and I remember our friends laughing that we'd had two dates in one weekend,” she says. Davide's very proud of his Italian heritage and it was a few years later while on a romantic break in Sorrento that he proposed. “When we arrived, there were flowers and champagne waiting for us in the room and suddenly he asked me to marry him. It was a big surprise for me but our friends and family knew,” she says.
Their special day took a year to plan and here Natalie tells us all about it…
I tried on around 20 dresses but eventually found the one. I wanted something classy with simplistic elegance and I just fell in love with the shape of it.
I opted for natural but glamorous make-up using gold and bronze tones. Choosing my hair style was really difficult but I loved the finished result, it complemented my look.
My sister-in-law Daniela, cousin Hannah and close friends Francesca, Tina, Kara and Lauren were my bridesmaids. I loved the colour of their dresses and they were really happy with them.
I chose peonies and spray roses for my hand-tied bouquet. I liked the colours and shapes of the flowers as they really complemented each other.
My maid-of-honour's daughters Allessia and Sofia were our flowergirls and our baby nephew George was our pageboy. It was important to have them involved in our day.
Davide likes clothes and fashion so he really enjoyed searching for his outfit. He wore a Hugo Boss suit and best man Ross and ushers Antonio, Liam, Ben and Jason wore navy suits with a grey tie.
The chalkboard menu and tableplan looked amazing, they really suited the look of the day.
Glass jars decorated with ribbon displayed treats on our sweet table.
Lodge Farm was perfect for us; we fell in love with the house and grounds and Maria, the wedding coordinator, was so welcoming and did all she could to help us.
We decorated a stepladder with flowers and frames to share photos of our loved ones who'd passed away.
"We have lots of amazing friends in our lives that wanted to help make our day truly special.” – Natalie
During the evening we had a band and DJ, they were both brilliant. The LOVE letters lit up the dancefloor, which was packed all night.
