The experience... The ancient barn in the Stable Yard at Hatfield House is full of curiosities as well as fabulous dresses and the gasp of brides when they enter through the old oak door never gets tiresome. Every bride who visits the boutique has the whole place to themselves and Sam's undivided attention.

The designers... Willowby by Watters dresses are perfect for brides who are carefree and looking for extraordinary. The sister brand Wtoo is popular for those looking for different but not too out there and in contrast Lou Lou gowns have a vintage vibe and are great for girls wanting to swish through their day.

Price range... Most gowns are priced around £1,500. However if you're on a more modest budget there are gowns from £995 and the opportunity to purchase a sample gown. Accessories... There's a huge sparkle cupboard full of hairvines, headbands, flower crowns and pins. There are also belts, flower sashes and veils. Not to mention capes, cover-ups and boleros. 

Appointments... It's essential to book. Weekends fill up quickly so try and be a little flexible and organised.

Sam's top tip... Be open-minded. Even though you might have an idea of what you want, don't be surprised if you end up with something totally different!
