Bridal beauty dos and don'ts

Our expert says: " A bridal look is unlike any other type of make-up application as in it needs to stay put and look flawless all day and night, as well as look great in natural light and on camera."

It also needs to withstand the demands of the day with all the tears and dancing. The key to achieving the perfect base is appropriate skin preparation. Correct primers, moisturisers and correcting products will ensure your base and the rest of the make-up remains radiant and glowing all day. For example, if you have an oily T-zone, you need to use a mattifying primer or your make-up will look shiny in the wrong areas and enhance your pores. For very dry skin, you'll need a primer which will moisturise and hydrate skin otherwise you'll have dry patches, which will look cakey. I usually recommend a facial treatment leading up to the wedding day to ensure your skin is its best condition!
