Find the perfect DJ with help from Hertfordshire's Disco-Nyts

With the huge array of music and ability to read a crowd, a good DJ can keep a dancefloor flowing all night. Faye and James Norgate, of Hertfordshire's Disco-Nyts share their tips for finding the perfect supplier…

1. Be upfront and totally clear about what you want. Meet with your DJ before the day and be sure to tell them how much talking you're happy with in-between songs and if you're happy to give them independent judgement.
2. Be very specific about your playlist – what songs you want playing and when.
3. Decide whether you're going to let your DJ take requests – the last thing you want is an evening of songs being played that you don't like!
4. Share your list of favourite tunes with your DJ as early as possible. They'll need time to make sure they have your music ready before for your big day. At the very latest, have all song selections to your music master no less than 30 days prior to your date.
